As you travel along your way, youre guide will tell you some of the local history,
from back in the homestead days, up until present day. In this area, farming and ranching
are the primary sources of income. At different times of the year you will witness many
different things going on. As an example, in the spring, you may see cattle being rounded
up and being branded, or tractors going in fields, planting crops for the upcoming
harvest. In late summer you could see the harvesting of crops, and in the fall the
gathering of cattle for shipment to market.
In this area there is an abundance of
wildlife, some of which are, deer, antelope, coyote, fox, prairie dogs, bighorn sheep,
game birds, eagles, hawks, and many other birds and animals. These animals, when seen, are
in their natural state, not in a cage, zoo, or park.
There are also many Indian artifacts, such as,
teepee rings, drawings on sandstone walls. Arrowheads, and other tools, can also be
occasionally found in some areas.
There are different tours available, depending
on what you would like to see, and how much time you want to spend. You can choose from as
little as a couple of hours, up to a full day. There is lot of country to see some of it
will require some hiking, although if you are not up to that, most of it can be seen right
from the vehicle.
